Special thanks for all the kind messages as I join the Muslim family, Seedorf wrote on his personal Instagram.

Clarence Seedorf recently converted to Islam. The former Dutch midfielder, who has won the Champions League four times with Ajax Amsterdam, Real Madrid and AC Milan, is now a Muslim.

Seedorf broke the news via social media. Through his upload, he said he was grateful to have become part of Islam.

"Special thanks for all the kind messages as I join the Muslim family," Seedorf wrote on his personal Instagram.

"I am very happy and excited to be joining all the [Muslim] brothers around the world, especially [my wife] the charming Sophia [Makramati], who has taught me a lot about the meaning of Islam."

Keep Using the Name Clarence Seedorf

I have not changed my name and will continue to use the name my parents gave me, Clarence Seedorf."

So far, Seedorf still holds the record as the only player to have won the Champions League with three different clubs. He won it with Ajax in the 1994/95 season, Real Madrid in the 1997/98 season, and Milan in the 2002/03 and 2006/07 seasons.
