Embarrassingly eliminated by Villarreal from the Champions League, this Juventus player apologizes

Juventus were eliminated from the 2021-2022 Champions League after losing 0-3 to Villarreal in the second leg of the 2021-2022 Champions League last 16. Playing at Juventus Stadium, Italy, Thursday (17/3/2022) early morning WIB, Juventus had to lose heavily to Villarreal with a score of 0-3. Gerard Moreno scored the goals against them through the penalty spot (78'), Pau Torres (85'), and Arnaut Danjuma's penalty (90+2').

Obviously the defeat was very painful for Massimiliano Allegri's polish team. Because they were also eliminated from the Champions League because they lost on aggregate with a score of 1-4.

After the match, Danilo admitted that he was very disappointed with the result. Because according to him, Juventus played quite dominantly than Villarreal. Especially in the first half, they often spread threats against the Spanish team but none of them scored.

Furthermore, the Brazilian right-back admitted that Juventus made a fatal mistake that made them lose. Danilo also apologizes to all the Bianconeri fans for the embarrassing result

"We made another mistake after their first goal. We still had time to equalize and take the game to extra time but we all went forward and they punished us."

"We just have to apologize to our fans and keep working hard," added Danilo.

With the elimination of Juventus, no Italian representative will qualify for the 2021-2022 Champions League quarter-finals. Previously, Inter Milan had already fallen after being eliminated by Liverpool.
