Napoli lower prices for Kalidou Koulibaly, MU and Liverpool Interested in buying?

A good news comes for Manchester United and Liverpool. Their target defender, Kalidou Koulibaly is reported to be sold at a cheaper price by Napoli next summer.

The 28-year-old defender has become an important pillar in Partenopei's first squad. In the past four years, it has become a solid wall so that Napoli's defense is difficult to penetrate by opponents.

Koulibaly's solidarity in building Napoli's defense has made many of Europe's top clubs in love. One of them is Manchester United and Liverpool who are interested in securing the services of the defender next summer.

Gazzetta Dello Sport claims the opportunities for the two clubs to recruit Koulibaly are even greater. Because Napoli lowered the defender's selling price this summer.

10% discount

According to the report, Napoli are willing to provide a 10% discount on Koulibaly's transfers.

At first Napoli set a high enough price for the defender. They want around 80 million pounds for the Senegalese national team players.

However, due to the transfer market situation that is being affected by the corona virus pandemic, Napoli are willing to sell the defender in the range of just 72 million pounds this summer.

Need money

The report claims Napoli were forced to sell Koulibaly rather cheaply because they were in need of funds.

Their coach, Gennaro Gattuso, is indeed planning to overhaul his team next summer. Because the Napoli squad is currently considered not suitable to play the scheme he wants.

For this reason, he needed a large amount of funds, so that a number of players like Koulibaly had to be sacrificed in order for his transfer plan to materialize.

This season Koulibaly has only played 15 times in Serie A.
